Art Deco Saturn Lamp

Saturn imagery became popular in a variety of Art Deco items, including lamps, after the planet was depicted on the logo of the 1933 Century of Progress Exhibition held in Chicago. These space age designs were progressive for their time. This 1930's, American-made table lamp (manufacturer and designer unknown) with it's futuristic milk glass shade and chrome halo could easily have appeared in a Buck Rogers set.

The Nature of the Blood of Christ

Redemption- lutron

(1) The Old Testament Idea of Redemption
There are two terms found in the Old Testament that express the idea of
redemption: gaal and padah. These terms can be used regarding deliverance,
without any reference to the mode of the deliverance (Gen. 48:16; Isaiah 29:22).
On the other hand they are frequently used in connection with the release by
payment of a price, or buying back.

The term is used to refer to the sanctifying of the firstborn of man or beast. For
clean animals no substitutionary price was paid. They were sacrificed on the
altar. In the case of both man and unclean animals, which could not be sacrificed
on the altar, a provision of redemption was made. (Ex. 13:11–15; Num. 18:15ff.).
Again the term is used in connection with the restoration of land or property.
Property was not sold in perpetuity (Lev. 25:23–24).
H1353 ????`geuollaoh
Feminine passive participle of H1350; redemption (including the right and
the object); by implication relationship:—kindred, redeem, redemption, right.
H1350 ???gaoal
A primitive root, to redeem (according to the Oriental law of kinship), that is,
to be the next of kin (and as such to buy back a relative’s property, marry his
widow, etc.):— X in any wise, X at all, avenger, deliver, (do, perform the part of
near, next) kinsfolk (-man), purchase, ransom, redeem (-er), revenger.
A kinsman could purchase back property. (See Ruth 4.)

This price was called a redemption ????. A
study of these and other usages of the words in the Old Testament indicates the
following: First, redemption refers to the recovery of person or things; Second, a
redemption price was necessary for such a recovery; Third, when an intermediary
accomplished the redemption, he was called a redeemer ???.
More important for our study, however, are the references of the terms for
redemption to the salvation of God’s people. Both words are used in this way.
The exodus of the Israelites from Egypt was designated by this name (Ex. 6:6;
15:13; Deut. 7:8). From the exodus as redemption, we come to the following
points: First, it was a deliverance from bondage to a foreign power; Second, it
was accomplished by the power of God’s outstretched arm; Third, the idea of a
price paid is present. This is expressly asserted in such passages as Ex. 15:16;
Deut. 32:6; Ps. 74:2; Isaiah 11:11. In Isaiah 43:3–4, Egypt, Ethiopia and Sheba
are called the substitutionary ransom for Israel.
One last idea from the Old Testament should be observed. It is the fact that the
mediator, who secured redemption, was called the ??? or kinsman–redeemer.
This term is referred to the Lord himself in a number of passages, such as, Job
19:25; Ps. 19:14; Isaiah 41:14; 43:14; 44:6, 24; 47:4; 48:17; 49:7, 26; 54:5, 8;
60:16; Jer. 50:34. In Isaiah 59:20, the reference is to the effect that the Redeemer
will come to Zion. It is quoted in Rom. 11:26. Thus the work of the Messiah was
specifically referred to as that of a redeemer.
(2) Redemption in the New Testament

The following terms are used in the New Testament to refer to redemption: lutron Strongs No: 3083 1. the price for redeeming, ransom
a. paid for slaves, captivesb. for the ransom of life
– a ransom. This is the most explicit of the terms. It is used only twice, but it is a
statement of Christ regarding his own work (Mt. 20:28; Mk. 10:45). lutrousqai
–the verbal form of ransom (Lk. 24:21; Tit. 2:14; 1 Pet. 1:18). lutrwsiV
– another substantive form (Lk. 1:68; 2:38; Heb. 9:12).
– a compound form. The most frequently used form of this root (Lk. 21:28;
Rom. 3:24; 8:23; 1 Cor. 1:30; Eph. 1:7,14; 4:30; Col. 1:14; Heb. 9:15; 11:35).
apolutwsiV
–a purchase, occurring a few times in the redemptive sense (1 Cor. 6:20; 7:23;

2 Pet. 2:1; Rev. 5:9; 14:3,4). hgorasaVV-AAI-2S Verb-Aorist Active Indicative-2nd Person Singular of agorazwmeans, buy, From G58; properly to go to market, that is, (by implication) to purchase; specifically to redeem:—buy, redeem.
– the idea of purchase, occurring only twice (Gal. 3:13; 4:5).
A survey of the passages referring to the work of Christ in these terms shows
clearly the idea of a redemption that was accomplished by the payment of a price,
namely, the bloodshed of our Savior.
In Mt. 20:28; Mk. 10:45, Christ refers to his own work in terms of coming to give
his life a ransom for many. Note three ideas:
First, the work he came to do was that of ransom.
Second, the price of the ransom was the giving of his own life.
Third, this ransom price was substitutionary in character.
B. B. Warfield points out:
that with this description of his own work given to the disciples, it is no
wonder that we find the same idea repeated in the words of his followers. Paul
echoes these words in 1 Tim. 2:6. Again in Titus 2:14 the giving of Christ is
represented as having a two–fold design, namely, of ransom from iniquity, and of
sanctifying th
